Flanged Gaskets
Rubber Fab’s Flanged Gasket Offering
There are many different styles of flanged sanitary gaskets designed to meet stringent hygiene and industrial requirements. Rubber Fab offers flanged gaskets for pharmaceutical and food processing applications as well as many different industrial sanitary applications where pressure and temperature demands vary. Our portfolio includes Full Face Flanged Gaskets and 150# or 300# Ring Flanged Gaskets tailored for more industrial applications, alongside ASME flange gasket designs that align with common piping standards. All flanged gaskets come with applicable certificates based on the style and the elastomer ordered, ensuring compliance for regulated environments.
Material options for flanged sanitary gaskets typically include EPDM, silicone, FKM, PTFE (including envelope and solid PTFE), Buna/Nitrile, and specialized compounds for steam or aggressive CIP/SIP media. Certifications commonly available—depending on the material—include FDA 21 CFR 177.2600, USP Class VI, 3-A Sanitary Standards, and often EU 1935/2004. ASME BPE compatibility and lot traceability documentation are also available for many elastomers. When ordering flanged gaskets, specify the required certificates so we can supply the exact documentation package with the shipment.
Have questions? Give us a call and we can find the right flanged gasket for your needs, whether you require an ANSI 150 flanged gasket for lower-pressure utility service or a 300# flanged gasket for higher-pressure industrial lines. We regularly help customers compare flanged gaskets by pressure class and material compatibility to ensure optimal service life and regulatory compliance.
Understanding Types, Pressure Ratings, and Applications
Flanged gaskets are often categorized by their pressure class and face style. An ANSI 150 flanged gasket (sometimes referred to as an ASME flange gasket for Class 150 service) is typically used in low to moderate pressure utility lines, CIP supply, and general plant service in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical facilities. By contrast, a 300# flanged gasket (also an ASME flange gasket for Class 300 service) is selected for higher-pressure steam, hot water, chemical transfer, and demanding industrial process lines. Full Face gaskets distribute load across the entire flange face for added sealing stability, while Ring gaskets focus on the raised face sealing area, often preferred where bolt load is limited or where standard raised-face flanges are used. When comparing different types of flanged gaskets, consider the pressure rating (e.g., ANSI 150 flanged gasket vs. 300# flanged gasket), temperature capability, chemical resistance, and the relevant sanitary or industrial certification requirements.
In sanitary service, elastomer selection is crucial. EPDM is commonly chosen for hot water and steam exposure (within its limits) and offers strong resistance to caustics used in CIP. Silicone performs well at low temperatures and in flexible connections. FKM is favored for aggressive solvents and higher temperatures. PTFE provides broad chemical resistance and low extractables, often used where purity is critical. Each of these materials can be supplied for flanged gaskets with the appropriate certificates, allowing you to match a specific ASME flange gasket to your process and audit needs.
What Is a Tri-Clamp Gasket?
A Tri-Clamp gasket (also known as a Tri-Clover or sanitary clamp gasket) is a hygienic seal used between two ferrules or clamp ends in sanitary piping. It seats in the groove formed by the ferrule faces and is compressed by a clamp to create a cleanable, crevice-free seal. While Tri-Clamp gaskets are not the same as flanged gaskets, many facilities use both—Tri-Clamp for hygienic connections and ASME flange gasket styles for utility or process lines that require bolted flanges. Tri-Clamp gaskets are available in the same core materials as flanged sanitary gaskets—such as EPDM, silicone, FKM, and PTFE—with similar certifications (FDA, USP Class VI, 3-A), allowing consistent material selection across connection types.
Where to Find Tri-Clamp Gasket Resources and Suppliers
Tri-clamp gasket size chart: You can typically find a comprehensive tri clamp gasket size chart on Rubber Fab’s product pages or in their downloadable literature and catalogs. These charts list outside diameters, inside diameters, and compatible ferrule sizes to help you select the correct gasket for your line size. If you need assistance locating the chart, contact our team and we can provide the exact Tri-Clamp size reference for your application.
Supplier of EPDM Tri-Clamp gaskets: Rubber Fab supplies EPDM Tri-Clamp gaskets in a wide range of sizes, durometers, and certifications. Reach out to our sales team or visit our website’s sanitary gaskets section to browse EPDM options, request certificates (e.g., FDA, 3-A, USP Class VI), and obtain a quote. We can also help you match material performance between your EPDM Tri-Clamp gaskets and your flanged gaskets to maintain consistent compliance and performance across your system.
