CUSTOMER: Global Manufacturer of Animal Vaccinations (Specifically Livestock)

BACKGROUND
The purpose of vaccinating is to protect the herd from harmful diseases for health, economic and welfare reasons. To provide protection, the immune system must develop memory. With each vaccination and booster, the goal is to provide the protection needed by triggering the immune system to recognize the disease.

CHALLENGES FACED
Customer has been using various types of Elastomeric Gaskets in their Formulation Filling Area. Due to piping misalignment, the bead of the elastomeric gaskets were being cut/crushed by the ferrule. This damage was causing gasket particulates to enter the media. Upon further investigation it was disclosed that proper installation practices were not being followed. These challenges require the flexibility of an elastomer gasket and the resilience of a stronger material in order to deal with the misalignment concerns.
